It's been a while...

Well it's been a while since I last left a post. I haven't had a chance to do much crochet, I have a new job and am getting used to regular 9-5 hours. The projects that I currently have on the go are:
  • Chevron lace cardigan
  • Elmo blanket
  • Stripy waves blanket
  • Crazy yarn blanket
  • Cup day hat
  • And a billion other projects that I want to start.
What are you working on?

Mount Gambier

My DH and I spent a lovely 4 nights in Mt Gambier, just over the border of Victoria in South Australia.
Mt Gambier is well know for it's limestone, blue lake and caves. We took a nice long walk around the blue lake, which isn't as blue in winter but still looked pretty nice to us
My trusting husband stood beside this sign and let me take a photo of him. The sign says "Ugly, but harmless!" The sign is about the millipedes that have taken over the area however I thought hubby was better suited to it!
This is one of the holes that cave divers use in Engelbrecht caves. This was my favourite cave out of them all. The water is so clear that it looks as if the rock shelves are near the surface however, they are 4 metres down.
Peter and I in front of the Wedding Cake formation in Alexandra Caves. Lots of stalactites and stalacmites which were quite cool to see.
This has to be my favourite photo from our trip. We were in Alexandra Caves and there was a small stalactite formation hanging from the roof, with a clear puddle of water underneath. The reflection on the water was amazingly clear. It looks like a castle underneath the caves.
Overall a lovely few days away but boy is it good to be home. I got almost no crochet done as we were really busy seeing the sights.

Gloves

Okay, so I said at the start that I had a heap of projects underway that I want to finish before I start something new. Well, yet again I have made something else but I swear, it was a necessary item!.
I made myself some gloves and then made my friend a pair. They only took about an hour each pair so I haven't spent that much time on them!!!!

Fash Washer's Galore

Well, I never thought I would be the sort of person who makes Face Washers. Grandmas make face washers and doilies and I make cool things!

That was, until a friend on Ravelry posted in her blog the entry titled "Facewasher Frenzy". After reading through her blog, I thought "Why not make a face washer and see how I go?" I didn't think I would enjoy it much and jsut thought it was something I could make for my niece and nephew and that would be the end of it. Boy, was I wrong! I can't get enough of crocheting face washers! I have only tried 2 patterns so far but I just love them. They are quick, portable and useful. I plan on making heaps more and have worked out which cottons I am going to buy when I next go to my LYS.

Now I just have to find grateful recipients for my handmade face washers!

P.S. Just because I made face washers, does not mean I will be making doilies next!

And so it begins.....

Well here I am, starting out yet another blog, hopefully this one I will be able to keep up with and add to it regularly.
What's on my hook at the moment? Well, as most knitters/crocheters know, you can never have just one project going at a time! So here are my WIP's (Work In Progress):
  • Daisy Charity Square Blanket
  • Men's Marvel Hat
  • Sweater for my husband
  • Elmo blanket for my nephew (it contains 1200 squares!)
  • Ripple blanket for my friend
  • Socks for myself
  • 2010 Block-A-Month CAL on Ravelry (I'm at about April, lots of catching up to do!)
  • I also want to do the 2009 Block-A-Month CAL as well
I also have a LOOOOONG list of patterns that I want to start on but I am trying not to allow myself to start on those until at least some of these items have been completed. (Although, as most of you know it is hard to stop yourself from making something that you just have to have! )

Check out some of the photos on Flickr (shown to the right) to see what I have done recently.

Happy Hooking!
